I would like to announce the University Graduate Schools new fellowship, the Irving and Shirley Brand Graduate Fellowship. The fellowship was created to honor President Myles Brand's parents, Irving and Shirley Brand. The fellowship is a $5,000 annual, single year fellowship for incoming or current IUB students in the Humanities. Preference will be given to students of Philosophy.
Since it is a new fellowship, we are going to hold the competition for the 2011-12 academic year now. The student deadline for submitting their application to their department is June 10, 2011. The department deadline for submitting the nomination to us is June 24, 2011. Beginning with the competition for the 2012-13, and subsequent years, the competition will be held during the spring semester.
